Wolf Gets a New Playground
Our students are enjoying a brand new playground thanks to EFD, Inc., a subsidiary of the Nordson Corporation.

The playground equipment, including a large play system, an orbiter, a track ride and a new swing set, was carefully chosen by Wolf teachers and occupational therapists to meet the needs of their students.

In addition to donating the equipment, EFD sent over 60 volunteers from their headquarters in East Providence to assemble and install it over a two-day period. We are grateful to the EFD volunteers and to Riccotti’s Sub Shop of East Providence and the Wolf School Parent Organization for generously donating food and drinks for the community build. Thank you!

Congratulations to the class of 2009!
On June 9, 2009, our eighth grade class graduated during an inspirational ceremony attended by family, friends, and Wolf supporters. Each of the seven students were personally recognized for their accomplishments and commended for their hard work. The graduates were encouraged and congratulated in remarks made by Jessica Robins Miller, Head of School and Mark Pelson, Board Chair. As is Wolf tradition, the ceremony closed with the raising of flags designed by each graduate to represent their interests and personalities. The flags will remain in the Pelson Center as an enduring tribute to their time at Wolf. We wish our graduates continued success and happiness as they transition into a new phase of their lives!

Special thanks!
We are grateful to the Louise A. Shuster Fund of the Rhode Island Foundation for a recent grant to support professional development initiatives at the Wolf School.

As an independent school, that is also certified as a Rhode Island private special education school, Wolf has an ongoing need for overall staff training and technical assistance in order to keep current with special education theory, clinical issues, standards, and practices. The Shuster Fund grant enabled our faculty to participate in specialized trainings that increased their knowledge and understanding of our complex learners. Also, the grant helped to build the Wolf School’s capacity as an educational resource for the community and strengthen its organizational expertise in special education issues and best practices.
